Welcome to Cecebe Waterways

A Touch of Paradise

Founded in 1978 and incorporated with by laws in 1989, the Lake Cecebe Waterways Association( CWA) is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the health and well- being of its lands and waters, and to providing information to its membership to further this goal. CWA represents more than 200 member families who are residents and/ or land owners on the Lake Cecebe waterway of the Magnetawan river system in the beautiful Almaguin Highlands just west of the town of Burk’s Falls. A Board of Directors, elected bi-annually, is responsible for decisions and leadership of the association. From providing navigation spars to hosting several annual social events to serving as a source of information on local activities and government, CWA serves its members’ as a key link to the lake at all times. New members, new initiatives and new ideas are always welcome; to join the association or for further information check out the link on this website.

What our Members Have To Say

In 1951, my parents and I walked across the ice to look at a cottage that was for sale on Watson Island. Owning and maintaining the vintage 1907 building became a labour of love for our family. Membership in the CWA & participation in the Association events have always been a key part of summer fun on the lake. -Logan Naftel

Since I was born in Burk's Falls, to parents running Rockwynn Lodge on Lake Cecebe, all of my early memories are on the lake, though mostly of the hundreds of boat trips each year to ferry guests or supplies to and from Rockwynn Island. Coming back to the lake many years later, the Waterways Association has replaced the resort as the organizer of lakewide activities and its website has become the first choice fount of lake information.
