Cecebe Waterways Annual Food Drive


In a perfect world, CWA would like to see a world where no one goes hungry. We see the suffering caused by hunger and are passionate about doing our part to eliminate as much as we can. Our association supports the Burk’s Falls and District Food Bank and we do so in several different ways.

CWA has an annual donation program which supports 3 or 4 local charities. The Burk’s Falls & District Food Bank is one of them. In addition, (thanks to our Poker Run Chair Mike Kinsey) all monies raised at our annual Poker Run each August (at $10 per poker hand) are donated directly to the same Food Bank. At our other social events during the summer (Golf Tournament, Regatta, and Corn Roast) we put out our donation box for Food Bank donations (of both food and cash or cheques). Finally, in the Fall we ask our members to remember the Food Bank as they clean out their cottage pantry and refrigerator by taking any left- over food to the Food Bank.

Four permanent drop-off locations for the Food BANK, are shown below. Food and cash/cheques can be dropped off at any time:

If you are writing a cheque to the Food Bank, it can be delivered to the Food Bank at the address below or mailed to the Burk’s Falls and District Food Bank, Post Office Box 694, Burk’s Falls, ON P0A 1C0.
