Corn Roast

Cecebe Waterways Annual Corn Roast
We are incredibly excited to announce the 26th annual Corn Roast on Saturday, August 16th, 2025, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at 448 Chapman Drive. Join us for the most anticipated and thrilling social event of the year! The Corn Roast has always been an end-of-season “thank you” to our members as well as an extra opportunity for new members to get acquainted with their lake neighbours. It was renamed the Jack and Willa King Memorial Corn Roast to honour Jack and Willa King, who hosted it for many years on their property on Chapman Drive. In 2014, we chose to make it more of a family event by starting earlier, adding some entertainment for the children, adding hamburgers and hot dogs and dessert to the menu. The event is on the same day as the Poker Run; the winners of the event are presented with their trophy at the Corn Roast.
Post Covid, the 2023 Corn Roast was a record-setting event with more participants in the Poker Run and attending the Corn Roast than ever before. Despite some rain for the 2024 event, the CWA still hosted and served over 100 attendees! Are you ready for an unforgettable evening? Why not come a little early this year and attend the CWA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) at 4:00pm and then the BBQ will start at 5:00pm and go into the evening hours. Remember to kindly bring a chair so you can relax and enjoy the festivities.
Please note that car parking is along Chapman Drive and boat parking is at the dock, where we may need to tie boats together. CWA is a supporter of the Food Bank, and boxes will be provided for any items you wish to donate. Thank you for your amazing support and for making our events unforgettable! We can’t wait to see you there and share this special day with you and your presence will make the event even more special. Mark your calendars and don’t miss out on the fun! We would love to hear about your favorite Corn Roast memories or any questions or volunteering as all are welcome, please reach Kevin Carlyle @ 647-688-0246 or kevin.carlyle@live.ca.
